What makes femafric unique?

Our mission encompasses revolutionizing the way think about your hair. Femafric is a unique social enterprise that that sells high-quality, handmade hair products, primarily focusing on protective styles like crochet braids. We support hair braiders in Sierra Leone, West Africa by paying them living wages and training. Unlike other hair-care manufacturers, we want to ensure that our women have visibility and we do this by educating consumers within the global marketplace.

 

How much hair do I need for a full head? 

Typically, 5-6 packs are needed. If you want a fluffy fro look, add another pack and a half.

 

Can hair be ordered in mixed colors in one bundle deal?

Yes, indicate your color choices in the ‘notes’ section when you are at checkout.

 

How long does this hair last?

This hair can last for a long time, the better you take GOOD care of it the longer you can have it and reuse! Our customers generally 2-3 wears from it.

 

I just made a purchase without verifying that your crochet hair comes pre-looped.

Yes, they are pre-looped.

 

How long does it typically take to get the hair?

Orders placed online are generally processed within 3-4 business days and shipped out within 7-10 business days after order has been fulfilled. Please consider our processing time when selecting your shipping method.

Can I use the hair for individuals?

Yes. We have seen customers unravel a few to use for around their crown.

 

Do you make custom orders?

Yes, we have specific periods throughout the year that we produce custom orders.

 

What is the best way to wash the Fro-Cee twists so that they are reusable?

You will need to bundle them together and then gently wash them by dipping it in shampoo/water solution and then rinsing gently.

To dry, lay flat individually and allow it to air dry.

Can the Mini Fro-Cee Twists be cut shorter without unraveling?

Absolutely! Feel Free to cut it into any style you desire.

 

Do you recommend any type of hair products to keep the hair looking fresh and bouncy?

Styling mousse and a good polish serum works great. You will need to trim the flyways periodically. Use styling products minimally to avoid build up.

For scalp treatment, we recommend a water/oil-based product (see our Lavender Oil + Rosewater Overnight Moisture Therapy).

What kind of night protection do you suggest?

We recommend a silk bonnet and use a little mousse to refresh it in the morning.
